Death Jr.: Root of Evil is an action-adventure platformer rebuilt exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. As the Grim Reaper's teenage son DJ and his friend Pandora accidentally release a dangerous spirit named Furi during a school biology project, players must battle through levels of enemies to stop her — and rescue DJ's captured father along the way.

Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, players fight through 19 levels with melee and ranged combat, wielding DJ's scythe or Pandora's whip alongside an arsenal of bizarre upgradeable weapons. A second player can join locally in co-op mode.
